There's been a few r&b uploads on this blog even though I'm mostly into rap, one of the reasons is that we've just started a new monthly in Stockholm strictly dedicated to r&b (where I'm playing alongside my main man, the king of r&b Crona), and I'm trying to fill my Serato crates with the best stuff possible. One of the songs I've been trying to track down is the Untouchables remix of Boyz II Men "Thank You", I just found out last week that it's been sitting on one of my external harddrives for a very long time.
Another song I'll most definitely play is the single from Al Green's "Soul Survivor" (no Jeezy), certainly not the Rev's greatest album but damn this song is good!
I've had a some computer problems lately so there has been no updates in a while, another reason for this is that I'm quite lazy. Anyway, here's one of the songs on the flipside of the 12" from the last post. It's a gaddamn great rap joint, slow beat, piano sampleand raw raps.
Just a few years back Aasim dropped "Hip Hop 101" on AV8 Records. I have that 12" somewhere too, might upload it if I find it. You should read his bio on discogs, it's pretty funny.
This joint is from a Loud Records promo, I can't find any info on this 12" online so it might be one of those rare ones. Or maybe not, it's six tracks in total and they're all good that's the important thing here. I suppose this is from 1997 since their first official release is from 1998. However, the Mobb Deep track that's on the b-side is from 1996 so it could be earlier. Anyway, that's just details. Just go ahead and DOWNLOAD
Here's another mid 90's R&B jam that McGruff was featured on as well as Panama P.I. who as far as I know still haven't had a solo release yet even though he seem to have been active since 1996 up til this day. Random R&B at it's finest!
Here's some footage from Wu-Tang Clan's show at Hultsfred Festival 1997. It's very clear that ODB was for the people, just watch him lighting up and giving out cigarettes to the crowd in Pt. 3. Overall he's putting on quite a show, dressed in Timbs and Adidas shorts and nothing else by the end of the show.
As a bonus I've ripped a tape recording of the show aired on Swedish national radio. The audio file is the complete show, so get your Wu-Tang on and download that ish.

I finally busted out the old tape deck and started the enormous task of converting old tapes to MP3 files. First out is Evil Dee's "X Unknown Pt 2" from 1997, just like most of the tapes from these days this is a nice mix of major label MC's like Redman, Snoop, Ghostface and underground acts such as M Slash, 3rd Eye and Cream Team.
Sound quality isn't great but better than many other tape rips out there. I went through a bunch of boxes and found some more Evil Dee tapes as well as other Tape Kingz releases from 1996-97, I'll try to rip one tape a week so keep checking this space for more hip hop gold.
